    Wood Industries is a builders providers and timber yard on the Corballis road in Rathdrum.

    We supply builders, farmers, contractors and people building their own house, across Wicklow, Wexford and south Dublin.

    Seventeen departments on one site. We buy timber by the pallet, so you can take one length or a full load, in sizes from 2.4 to 9.0 metres. Blocks by the cube, sand and gravel by the tonne, and cement, steel, insulation, roofing, drainage, gates, paint, workwear and the full Timco range of fixings.

    Timber

    Structural timber, in stock

    Held by the pallet, cut by the piece. Lengths from 2.4 to 9.0 metres, which most merchants do not carry.

    C16 is a strength grade. It means the timber has been graded and stamped as fit to carry structural load: joists, rafters, studwork. C24 is stronger again. Tell us the span and we’ll tell you which one you need.

    The sizes we are asked for most. We hold a good deal more, so ask if you do not see it.

    Why there are no prices here

    Timber moves week to week, and trade customers are on their own agreed rates. A number printed here in March is the wrong number in June, and it would be wrong for most of the people reading it.

    So we do it the other way round. Send the list, or call the yard, and you get a real price the same working day, in writing, held for thirty days. A price you can build a budget on.

    What will carry a four metre span?

    Enter the span and the centres. We will show you every size we hold that will carry it.

    A guide, not a structural calculation. Actual spans depend on load, grade, notching and what sits above. Call us with your span and we’ll check it. Anything structural is signed off by an engineer.

    Volume, plus the usual 10% for waste.

    Home energy grants

    What the SEAI grants cover

    You buy the materials, an SEAI-registered contractor does the work, and SEAI pays a fixed amount back depending on the house.

    Grant work has to be done by a registered contractor, so materials bought over the counter for a DIY job don’t qualify. If you’re going through a contractor, bring us the BER report or their spec and we’ll price the materials.

    We stock the full list: attic rolls, bonded bead, cavity closers, insulated slab, membranes and tape.
